LAHORE – The much-awaited Honhaar Scholarship Program started at Punjab University on Wednesday. This program will give financial help to students in the region. The new program aims to make higher education easier to access and to give young people better opportunities for a brighter future. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz introduced this program to support talented students who face money problems so they can continue their studies in their favorite fields.
Honahar Scholarship Programme
During the ceremony, the Punjab Chief Minister gave scholarship cheques to students, showing the program’s dedication to supporting education. The CM also launched an online e-portal, making it easier for students to apply for and manage their scholarships online.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat talked about the positive effects of this program. He said that the program, with a budget of Rs 130 billion, will help thousands of students every year. This shows the government’s strong commitment to supporting the younger generation.
Eligibility Criteria For Students

| Eligibility for MBBS/BDS | Students in the first year of MBBS or BDS in 2024 are eligible. |

So far, 68,000 students from over 60 universities, 359 colleges, and 12 medical colleges have applied for the Honhaar Scholarship Program. This shows how many students need support for their education.
